I find sculptures like this riveting--it reminds me a little bit of that one of Laocoon, with so much movement. The idea of something made out of stone that feels like it's moving--that's one of the miracles of art.
Full credit, Lisa B. I too am stunned that something so living can be cut out of stone. It is not so much movement for me, as how living the stone is. Michelangelo had something to say about that, as I recall.
