So I've been out of town since Wednesday of last week at a conference. It was not that I didn't have Internet access nor that I was super-busy at said conference, but that I really found nothing interesting in the host city to comment upon. Everything I could think of ended up being a bitch, so I'll forgo all that just to say I was out of town and that is that. I might post some pictures.
Maybe.
Or maybe you want to read my bitching about city sterility, lack of humanity, no ATMs ANYWHERE, empty-headed planning, urban decay, pointlessness, unhappy race-relations, and an overall sense of urban banality that goes on, and on, and on?
Guess which city I was in, and win a prize of sheer exuberance. (No cheating those of you who know where I went.)
While you weren't blogging, I played this game in my head: "Now where did he say he was going?" "I forget." "Was it . . ." and then I would say a city I instantly knew was wrong. So I await the outcome of the competition.
ReplyDeleteSo that means you can guess, lisa b.! Guess. Guess with impunity!
ReplyDeleteKoosharem?
ReplyDeleteHow about Detroit?
Ok, I cheated and did some research...I'm sorry, I consider that city the hellmouth and you were there when it was relatively cool. It amazes me how much white cement has been poured in that town.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Phoenix, but your photos show too much moisture in the air.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I figured it out, but I think I may have cheated by looking at one of your photos and following a clue to . . . the Internet! although now that I know, I realize that
ReplyDelete>>city sterility, lack of humanity, no ATMs ANYWHERE, empty-headed planning, urban decay, pointlessness, unhappy race-relations, and an overall sense of urban banality that goes on, and on, and on?
should have totally given it away.
Koosharem! Woo hoo! I prefer Kanosh.
ReplyDeleteNo it wasn't either of those, Detroit, or Phoenix.
No soup for you!
I've got it, Wamsutter, Wyoming! I was looking at the tags: fear and loathing, and thought Las Vegas, but there's no shortage of ATMs there. LA?
ReplyDeleteWhy were you at a conference in Provo?
ReplyDeleteProvo wishes it were that interesting!
ReplyDeleteDallas?
